The Orange County Cemetery District provides the following rules and regulations to facilitate the utmost care and maintenance of the District cemeteries. We respectfully request that these rules and regulations are followed. For a more detailed list of the rules and regulations, please visit the cemetery or District offices.
- The District requests that while visiting the cemetery, you please be respectful, quiet and reverent, to help keep the cemetery a peaceful and beautiful place.
- Pets must be on a leash and are not permited on the grass or planted areas.
- All items will be removed from the graves every Wednesday, except during some holidays.
- Burial rights in cemetery lots may be purchased from an authorized representative of the Board of Trustees of the Orange County Cemetery District at the business office located on the cemetery grounds. The terms of sale are cash unless other arrangements have been made.
- Upon payment in full, including payment to the Endowment Care Fund, a certificate of Burial Rights, executed by an authorized representative of the Board of Trustees, shall be issued to the purchaser.
- No interment shall be made without a permit from the proper authorities and until the interment order has been signed by a member of the family of the deceased or authorized person.
- A District approved vault shall be used in every interment. For a double-depth burial, a District approved vault must be used for the lower burial.
- No opening or closing of a grave shall be made by anyone except employees of the District or those acting under the direction of District staff.
- Interments shall be made between the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm, unless permission for interment at another hour has been obtained from the Cemetery Manager.
- No interments shall be made on the following observed holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day.
- Interments on Saturday, Sunday or on Martin Luther King Day, Lincoln's Birthday, President's Day, Veteran's Day or the day after Thanksgiving shall require payment of the Saturday/Sunday/Holiday surcharge and require three (3) days advanced notice to the Cemetery Manager.
